EP artwork and new video

Couple of quick things, check out the following video. It was made by Robby, who also filmed our set at the house show. It’s fucking great and we really appreciate him doing it, so have a look, and check out his other videos.

Also, we have the finished artwork for our EP. Pete drew this himself and its probably the best EP cover of all time.

Finally, a couple more flyers for shows. We’ve got another two lined up, more about all our upcoming shows soon.

Broken toilets- Wet Shit EP

dog city

So I haven’t updated this for a while…

The Swamp Thing show at the Marquee was last Monday, and was pretty good fun. All the bands we played with- Santa Karla, Black Haven and Swamp Thing were fucking cool, and we had a good time. Most people there seemed a bit standoffish though, but I think that’s the case fairly often at Norwich hardcore shows, especially for the opening band, and if you don’t make stuff to mosh to. Additionally a lot of the people here hadn’t seen us before and naturally as much as you like or dislike a band, the first time hearing them, it takes a while to sink in. As Pete said, they didn’t quite get the ‘Dorian Gay Experience’. I still think we are yet to find a show where we really fit in perfectly with the rest of the bands, but that’s neither good nor bad really. Hopefully we just find enough people who appreciate that we have a load of influences, but try not to sound too much like anyone else- or just rip off a load of bands at once. It was good to play again, and thanks to Lea for putting us on, it was an awesome show.

We played for the first time a couple of new songs, one a reworked version of something we had messed about with for a while, which is called ‘Bowsers Castle’, as the riff was inspired by the theme on said Mario Kart track. The other was one which Tom had been working on and we put together a week or so ago at practise. It’s the first time he’s taken a lead role in the song writing process, as before it had always been a case of him fitting parts to existing songs. It’s a longer song than we usually play and works well as a set/EP closer, and makes us all excited to see what we come up with alongside Tom in the future.

Our next show was supposed to be in Birmingham with Manuscripts and some other bands, but for various reasons it had to be cancelled. It fucking sucks as we were all really looking forward to it, but these things can’t be helped. They are still coming down for Sunday- our second house show though, so all is not lost. The line-up and organisation for this is pretty much finished now and we can’t wait. This is the flyer that Pete drew for it…

P for Persia can’t play anymore, but I’ve managed to sort out more than adequate replacements, Cold Ones and Headcase are gonna play instead. Fuck yeah! I’ll no doubt post a massive blog about it after the house show.

Most exciting of all though, we are currently in the studio recording tracks for our first EP. It’s sounding really cool at the moment, it’s the first time any of us have heard the songs properly- i.e. not at rehearsal, at a show or on a shitty 4 track, but we all really like how it’s sounding. Some of the songs are re-recorded from the demo, but we are also recording 4 new tracks, all of which we have been playing live, but have not got on tape.  We all agree that these are improvements on the songs we had before and hopefully our best work as a band so far. Expect the results and pictures and shit soon. Hopefully we will have it released in the near future; we are just sorting out tapes, CD’s and a way to download it as well. Oh and hopefully a t-shirt. As I said, more to come soon.
